londoncyclefestival 2025, VIA Criterium & Tracksmith Solstice 3k - That’s a Wrap!

The dust has just about settled on last weekend’s londoncyclefestival which featured the third edition of the VIA Criterium as well as the inaugural Sostice 3k, bringing an eclectic mix of elite riders and runners to King’s Cross creating a spectacle of racing over three days.

Together with the Brompton World Championships, the racing brought together 1,420 participants across all event - an impressive increase on 2024 numbers showing the growth of the weekend that’s become a bookmark in the racing calendar.

 

What’s more, the festival brought together over 143,600 visitors to King’s Cross over the course of the three days.

 

The Action in Numbers

  • GRA-VIA 135 riders over 120km

  • 33 races around the track

  • 2 x Elite running races 100 runners

  • 3 x Community runs and rides, with 131 participants in total

  • 78 x prizes given out

  • 12,872 laps of the track, that’s over 10,000km covered in total

  • A new VIA Criterium fastest lap of 1’06”, set by former track World Champion and Olympic silver medalist Ollie Wood

VIA Criterium Results

As well as setting the fastest lap on the course to date, TEKKERZ rider Ollie Wood also raced home to take the win on Friday night in the men’s elite race, with teammates Oscar Amey and Alec Briggs rounding out the podium for a TEKKERZ 1-2-3.
 
In the women’s elite race, Zoe Roche of Shibden Apex RT was fastest on the night, ahead of Amy Perryman and Charlotte Broughton-Kulset.
 
It was yet another good night in King’s Cross for the London-based TEKKERZ team, with Nimai Inniss winning the open Cat 3 race. Whilst Emily Jones, Southampton Uni Road Club, won the women’s Cat 3 race.
 
In the Cat 4 events, Millie Gage took the win in the women’s race, whilst Raoul Metcalfe, Gapped Race Team, won the men’s race.

Tracksmith Solstice 3k

Our inaugural Solstice 3k saw the race circuit opened up to elite runners for the first time on the Friday night, racing under the lights around the circuit, with 100 men and women lining up across two races.

 

In the elite men’s race, Roger Poolman ripped round the circuit to win with a time of 8’49”, five seconds ahead of Cameron Reilly in second and 10” up on Max Milarvie in third.

 

Niamh Bridson-Hubbard clocked the fastest time in the women's elite race, winning in 10 minutes, four seconds ahead of Molly Smith in second and eight on Niamh Brown in third.
