BIKE FITTING

IDMatch Bike Fit

We look at how you move on the bike and make small, thoughtful adjustments so everything feels more natural and comfortable. Whether you are brand new to cycling or already riding a lot, the goal is simply to help you enjoy your riding more, with less discomfort and more confidence.

You do not need to know what kind of fit you need beforehand. We will talk through how and where you ride, what you would like to improve, and then tailor the session to suit you.

THE BIKE FIT DETAILS

An IDMatch bike fit is a fully personalised fitting experience designed to make you more comfortable, more efficient, and more confident on the bike. Using advanced measurement and motion analysis, we build your ideal riding position around how your body actually moves, not just how it looks on paper.

Rather than forcing you into a predefined “road” or “gravel” fit, your session is led by one of our fit consultants (Tris and Mike) who will take the time to understand how you ride, what you want to achieve, and any niggles or goals you have. From there, the fit is tailored entirely to you.

IDMatch analyses posture, movement, pressure points, and pedalling dynamics in real time, helping us create a position that feels natural, sustainable, and efficient mile after mile. The service is suitable for road, gravel, MTB, and triathlon riders, whether you are totally new to cycling or refining an already dialled setup.

What’s included:

  • 3D body measurement to accurately map your proportions

  • Markerless dynamic movement analysis while pedalling under load

  • Foot and cleat setup to improve comfort and power transfer

  • Smart bike fitting with real time testing of saddle and handlebar positions

  • Saddle selection and positioning to reduce discomfort and pressure

  • A complete fit report with position data, sizing guidance, and recommendations

  • Translation of the final position onto your own bike if required, excluding any new components

What to bring:

  • Riding kit such as bib shorts and a jersey or top

  • Cycling shoes

  • Your bike if you already own one and would like it set up

Duration:

  • 90 minutes

If you want a fit that’s data driven but still human, precise but relaxed, this is it!

ABOUT THE TEAM

MIKE MOONEY

Mike heads up VIA’s Management and Events team and is responsible for the VIA Shop’s weekly rides — from the Regent’s Park sessions in London to the longer Saturday routes out to Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire and Surrey.

He has a long history in bike racing dating back to the 1980s, competing across Europe, including racing for road teams in France and Belgium. Over the years he has ridden for multiple teams, including a stint representing Great Britain as part of the national squad. While his European racing days may be behind him, Mike still keeps his eye in on the local CX and MTB race scene.

Prior to joining VIA, Mike ran his own independent bike shop, managing everything from retail and bike sales to club rides and bike fitting. His experience across racing, retail and rider development gives him a unique, practical understanding of cyclists at every level.

“I’ve been watching people ride their bikes my whole life. Helping them become faster and more comfortable has always felt completely natural.”

Mike’s passion for racing remains as strong as ever — but above all, he simply loves riding bikes and sharing that enthusiasm with others.

TRISTAN PERKS

Tris leads bike fitting and bespoke builds at VIA in King’s Cross. Cycling has been part of his life for more than 20 years, growing up around club riding and racing through his family before competing in mountain bike disciplines as a teen!

Over the past 15 years he has worked across the cycling industry, including time as a freelance mechanic with INEOS and several years with Pinarello as a head technician. He also co-founded his own race team, giving him a strong connection to the community in London.

Having spent much of his career building and working on performance bikes, Tris brings a practical, hands-on understanding to bike fitting - focusing on helping riders find positions that feel natural, efficient and sustainable on the road.
